The Richmond Vale Railway is part of the once extensive J & A Brown coal haulage network in the lower Hunter. The colliery closed in 1967. Preservation commenced in 1979. Excursions are run between Richmond Vale and Pelaw Main. An annual model display is held in late autumn/early winter.
